Smart Image Resizing for Instagram posts via Automation campaigns

New

Since Instagram has very strict API requirements for posting on their platform, users creating posts through automation campaigns faced problems in posting to Instagram.

Instagram aspect ratio must be within a 4:5 to 1.91:1 range to post successfully.

With this update, now, at runtime, we check if these requirements are fulfilled. If the image has an “incorrect” aspect ratio, we modify the image to meet the requirements. We do not make a landscape image portrait or vice versa. We just scale the image to the nearest vectors to retain the image quality and send it to Instagram to publish.

We are working on doing the same for videos and will send them out soon as well…

Full-view is now available in Planner

New

Improvement

Fix

Easily view full posts in Planner

Like the Media Library image preview, we have added the same functionality to the Planner module’s List and Calendar view. Click on any post, and you can move between the posts using the left/right buttons or arrow keys.

Users can perform all primary actions on the posts, such as adding comments, approving the posts, editing, etc.

Other Bug Fixes & Improvements:

  • In the Composer module, adding links to the Facebook carousel cards would not be reflected in the post preview. We have added the link redirects to each card depending on the URL added to the card.
  • In the Composer module, users could not create a carousel post when adding a link for which the system could not generate a preview. This was usually the case when we could not fetch an image from that link. Now, such links are accepted by the system, and as a fallback, the users can either upload an image themselves or leave it up to Facebook to fetch and set an image from the link by themselves.
  • In the Planner module, there was a bug that caused the already created posts to be uneditable. This was due to a code break and has been fixed in this release.
  • In the Composer module, on editing a Facebook Reel post, the selected option would default to Feed regardless of the previous option. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • LinkedIn - Internal Server Error has been fixed in this release as well. This issue was caused by code breakage on the LinkedIn server, which caused the posting to fail to return us with the “Internal Server Error”. We have added retry attempts in such cases, and the post goes through. After attempting to post five-time, the server will return this error message to the user to handle themselves.
  • In the Media Library module, we have fixed the following bugs:
    • Deleting/Archiving a media asset would mark the assets as selected, and the bulk option was disabled.
    • After performing a bulk action and refreshing, the screen would take the user to the login screen.
    • Randomly, the screen would start to freeze up and often gave an error message to contact support.
  • In the Inbox Module, there was a problem with the sync button, which caused the system to fail to fetch updates to the conversations and posts. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • In the Composer module, editing a blog post would cause the entire screen to freeze up and make the entire application unable to render. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Image Preview in iOS App - v 2.7.21 (2)

New

Improvement

Fix

This release includes the following:

  • In the Composer Module, to preview images added to the post, users can just tap on any image, and it will open the image previewer. You can tap the left/right buttons or swipe left/right to move between the images.

2.png

  • In the Planner module, we have made the media assets more prominent by increasing the image sizes, added left/right buttons to move between assets, and added an indicator to depict the type of asset (image or video) in the post. Previously, this wasn't included, which led to a lot of confusion about what type of media asset was added to the post, and the users had to edit the post to view all of the attached images.

  • In the Planner module, there was a bug that hid the Approve/Reject buttons for the approver. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Manage Google My Business (GMB) Reviews in Social Inbox

New

You can easily manage all reviews on your Google My Business locations through our Social Inbox module.

All new reviews are fetched and synced with the platform in real-time, which includes updates to the review, such as text or rating changes, and you can reply to them directly through our platform without going to that location.

Using the Inbox module, you can create, edit or delete a comment, and the changes will also reflect on that location.

The only limitation is that you can reply only once to a review.

Direct Publishing Facebook Reels and so much more!

New

Improvement

Fix

Facebook Reels

With the API now available for posting reels to Facebook Pages, we have added this as a feature on priority since it has been one of the most requested.

In the Composer module, all you need to do is select Facebook pages from the social accounts section, upload a video file and from “Facebook Settings” select the Reels radio button, and that's it! The content will go as a Reel post.

We have also added the option to add a custom video title for Facebook. Initially, the title will be the media file name.

Requirements from Facebook:

Screenshot from 2022-09-22 12-02-46.png

The reels option is currently only available for Pages. When Group is also selected, the system will publish there as a feed post.

LinkedIn Video Thumbnail

You can easily add a custom thumbnail to the LinkedIn video posts, and all three options can be used to create a thumbnail for the post.

Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • In the Planner module’s Feed view section, we have revamped all previews and made them similar to the Composer module’s preview section.
  • In the Discovery module’s, Influencer section, at times, the influencer would not exist in our database, and the users would have to send a request to our support channel to add their preferred influencer. Now, in case no influencer is found, we have provided a system by which you can add an influencer without any hassle. If the influencer's @handle is correct and they meet our set protocol, they will be automatically added to our collection.

Screenshot from 2022-09-21 17-22-27.png

  • In the user Profile settings, we have improved the user interface and added the option to add/edit your contact number.

Untitled.png

  • In the Social Composer module, the Caption Generation feature has been improved. When a user selects only a Twitter account, Tweet type is turned into the default tab for the generated caption. Another improvement is that even if the link preview is not generated or removed, the Caption Generation button used to get disabled; now, as long as there is a valid link in the Composer box, the caption will be generated.
  • In the Social Composer module, you can also collapse the Social Account selection, giving you more room for the composer box. The collapsed Social Account section would only show the selected social profiles, and to make the changes, the section would have to be expanded again.
  • In the Social Composer module, the remove image button was not visible on images with lighter backgrounds, and now we have made it more prominent in this release.
  • In the Media Library module, now, by clicking to view the media asset, we have changed the way the image and the related details are displayed, also giving the users an option to move between assets by clicking on the arrow buttons or through key board’s right and left buttons. Before, the users had to close the media details modal and click on another media to view them. This was causing a lot of hassle and was not user-friendly. We have tried to make it more interactive and user-friendly by making these changes.

Screenshot from 2022-09-22 10-51-28.png

  • In the Social Accounts settings, we were not fetching the linked LinkedIn organizations (pages) on which the user was a Content Admin. Only pages where the user was set as Super Admin were fetched. Now, all pages for both roles will be fetched and displayed, and the users can create posts for such pages.
  • In the Planner module, you can now search for the created posts based on content in the post by typing in the search bar.
  • In the Social Composer, we have improved our user interface in the Send for Approval modal.

Screenshot from 2022-09-22 11-06-07.png

  • In the Planner module, we have made it so that scrolling down on the screen would hide the filters and other information from the top and make the view more prominent. This is most significantly visible in the Calendar view.

  • The invited approvers signing up to the platform can now set their First and Last name along with the password; we were just asking to set their password, and since their names weren't set, it was confusing for the team members to identify them via their email address.

  • In the Planner module’s List view section, the entire list of posts would get auto refreshed when the user either Approved or Rejected the posts. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Discovery module’s, Influencer section, exporting the influencers caused a code breakage on the backend, which led to a 500 server error. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Composer module, iPad users could not drag and drop content from the Assistant section using touch gestures. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Blog Composer module, users could not select Categories while posting on WordPress. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Accounts Settings, only a hundred Pinterest boards were getting fetched, this was an oversight on our end, and now we have added pagination to display all of the boards associated with the Pinterest account.

  • While scrolling on the page in the Media Library module, the screen would start to freeze up and cause some media asset’s thumbnails to display as broken. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Media Library module, deleting a media asset would, at times, cause a code break which leads to the assets not getting deleted. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • The post preview in the Social Composer module would not be displayed on Mac OS. This case was most prevalent on the Safari browser. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Planner module’s Calendar view, dragging and dropping a scheduled post to another day would instead schedule it to a day ahead. This was caused because the user’s system timezone differed from the workspace timezone. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Composer module, we displayed a “View More” button inside the preview when the text added was too long to be displayed together like on the social channel. The button would not expand the view to display the entire content, and this issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Composer module, while setting a scheduled time, the Calendar was not displayed correctly on a smaller screen, and this issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Planner module, resetting the set filters and applying some other filter would cause all of the previous filters to get applied again. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Accounts settings, we had missed adding individual Pinterest boards on our platform observer, which caused the boards with expired tokens to display still as active, and this caused the publishing to fail. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • Editing a threaded tweet in the Social Composer module displayed incorrect characters remaining. Often there would still be characters remaining, and still, an error message was shown that the limit had been exceeded. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Workspace listing view, deleting a workspace did not remove the workspace from the list even after showing a success message. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Workspace listing view, making a workspace default did not update the view even after showing a success message. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Composer module, one of the returns is lost when pasting in the text that contains two carriage returns. This issue has been fixed in this release.

  • In the Social Composer module, adding text by copy-pasting from a word document added extra lines at the end of each paragraph. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Two Factor Authentication

New

With the addition of two-factor authentication, you can now add an additional layer of security to your account on ContentStudio. We have integrated the Google Authenticator app, which can be utilized for this, in this first stage.

To enable 2-FA:

  • Navigate to the “Your Profile” module in Settings,
  • Under the Security section, we have added the “Two-factor Authentication” tab.
  • Provide your current password and click on Enable
  • From your Apple or Android device, download and scan the QR code generated for you.
  • From the Authenticator app, add the code coming under “ContentStudio”
  • Click Confirm, and you are done!

We have also gone a step ahead by providing you with system-generated backup codes to keep in a safe place in case you lose your authenticator application and need to sign in to the platform. You can also download, print, and copy these codes, and you can also regenerate these codes.

A backup code can only be used once while signing in to the platform and are not reusable. So in case you use up all of them, you can simply regenerate them for continued access to the platform.

Multiple Improvements in the Social Inbox

Improvement

Fix

This release includes the following improvements and fixes in our Inbox module:

  • 500 server error, while editing the user details at times, would cause code breaks that didn't allow the client who sent the message to be updated in all conversations and posts. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • Bookmarking a message did not indicate that the conversation had been marked as bookmarked, which often confused our users, and marking it again would revert it, causing further confusion. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • Bookmarked conversations didn't show up in the bookmark section immediately; at times, it would cause a delay or not show up. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • The clear text button in the conversation was nonfunctional, and broke the functionality sometimes on click. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • Bookmarking a message would, at times, duplicate the same message, and one of them would be marked as bookmarked while the other remained as it is. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • UI improvements:
    • Assigning tags to conversations and posts
    • Sort by Oldest and Newest conversation and posts
    • Assign a conversation or post to a team member
    • Tags in Miscellaneous settings
    • Instagram reply box
  • Editing a tag would give an error that the name cannot be duplicated when the user just wants to change the color of the tag. This was an oversight on our end and has been fixed in this release.
  • Merging tags would take a long time to execute and complete. At times merging more than ten tags would cause the code to break, and the assigned tags were not updated. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Blog Featured Image - WP Plugin Update - v 1.1.8

Improvement

Fix

The featured image was not sent successfully to the blog platform, causing a broken image to be displayed instead of the featured image. This usually happens when the image file name is set in another language other than English or has some special characters added to the file name. This issue has been fixed in this release.

Multiple Improvements and Fixes

Improvement

  • In our Chrome Extension, selecting the posting schedule would freeze up the extension and would not allow the user to create a post. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • In the Automation module, the Evergreen Automation would not allow the users to schedule content with the Content Category created by the user. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • In the Automation module, Evergreen Automation would, at times, start the campaign on the wrong day and schedule all of the content on the same day. This issue has been fixed in this release.
